Savagery: Emma MacKenzie

Blurb:

In 10th century France, 18-year old Cherine Cadet only knows one thing: that the life of a peasant isn’t a life at all. Tired of working in utter poverty for an unfeeling Lord, with only her indifferent family and love-struck best friend as company, Cherine dreams of the day she can run away from the future set-up for her, even if she knows there’s no real escape from her destiny.

Then, in one brutal instance, everything changes. A Viking fleet led by the powerful nobleman and warrior, Rolf the Walker and his right-hand man, Erik the Axe, arrive on the shores of the Lord’s estate. In minutes, the entire land is up in flames, Cherine’s family and fellow serfs are killed, and Cherine comes dangerously close to death herself. She is saved only by the fierce Erik – but a new lease on life comes with a cost.

Cherine becomes a slave to the Vikings, a fate she thinks is no better than the one she had before. But as she finds herself being shared between the two men, the savage and darkly handsome Rolf and the mysterious and sensual Erik, Cherine discovers that she too has a fiery warrior heart and that the flames that consumed her old life might burn them all to the ground.
Kitten's Thoughts:
Cherine's home is destroyed by the feared Vikings and she is taken to be used by two handsome, strong, poweful Vikings as they wish.  In this backdrop, a seemingly impossible romance buds between Cherine and Erik all the while Rolf places his unrelenting demands on Cherine's body.  Both men are motivated with differing desires for her, as well as different ways to make her life somewhat more pleasurable than before, but she has no voice herself to choose the man that she prefers.  Which man will ultimately claim her as his?  The man that softly yet firmly awakens her sexuality, or the man that gives her pleasure while brutally forcing her body into submission?

Buy this book: Abraham Lincoln: Presidential Fuck Machine
Blurb: Few people know that Abraham Lincoln was the greatest fuck machine of all time. His sexual prowess is unmatched in the history of American presidents. When he gets word of a nefarious plot hatched by the insane Emperor of Japan, he must learn to use his most potent power--the power of his cock!

Little known facts about good ole Abe. He kills zombies and vampires. He is also...I mean this is probably pretty obvious...but he is also a Fuck Machine. The book opens with the Prez's woody. Rather than be rude and wake the old lady up he gets the maid, Martha, to relieve his rock hard, well, nine inch rod. Martha is such a good servant and deep throats that thing.
"Martha practically swooned when she saw it. 'May I....may I touch it?' she asked practically swooning at the sight. 'Dear girl, don't just touch it. I want you to swallow it.'"

Comfort Food Chapter 12: The End!!!

Buy the book!!!

Lola's Thoughts:

In this chapter Emily takes her life into her own hands and gets in the car and goes back to her Master. She mails a letter to her parents and ties up the few lose ends.
She doesn't know or care if the Dr. can "cure" her.  She didn't care how she had become this way. She didn't care that she doesn't and will probably never know his name. He is her master.
She envisions a welcome homecoming. Instead she is treated with coldness and locked out of the house.

She knocks on the door until her hands bleed. She laughs remembering when she did that same thing to be let out. He opens the door and gives her things to clean her wounds. Hours later: chicken noodle soup is set out. Around midnight: a pillow and blankets. Emily just goes with the flow. She has hope that he will let her back in.

Anything beyond this is a spoiler. You will have to buy the book to find out if he lets her back in or not. Thank you for joining us in our read a long.

Kitten's Thoughts:
I have nothing else to add.  Hope you enjoyed this?  At the least, it's been a ride if you read it with us.

Comfort Food: A Read Along, Chapters 10 and 11

Kitten's Thoughts:

He didn't have to forcibly remove me from the house because I knew he would and having a breakdown at this point wasn't going to help.  I had belonged to him, and now he was showing me how absolute that was by disposing of me like any other piece of property that had become of little interest.
Just like taking out the trash.  Unbelievable.  But this is a good thing, right?  Emily can go back to her life.  It may take time to rebuild it...  maybe a little therapy would help, but she'll be ok.  She can't have gone through all of this and not be able to rise above it in the end.

She returns home to a shocked mother and father who had just recently (as she heard on the radio while driving) had a memorial service for her.  They gave up on her.  They believed her dead even without a body.  The dullness she felt when she left only intensifies.  "I'm a zombie." she tells the girl at the drive-through window.  Does her Master know what her family did?  Does he want her to feel like a zombie inside?  Why this utter cruelty?  Why should we expect anything else from him?

After being home for a while, she finally begins to see a therapist.  She just wants pills so that she can numb herself even further.  The therapist hesitates since that's not how therapy works.  You have to talk about "things" and "what happened" and "how does that make you feel", but Emily wants none of it.  The therapist, not really getting anywhere in the session by asking those irritating questions, quickly finds the root:

"You want to go back to him."
It wasn't a question.  I bolted up from the couch and stared at her.  Despite understandings of the victim/tormentor relationship, most people refused to accept someone wanting to go back after they were free.
"Yes," I said.
Her therapist assigns her homework...  to keep a journal of the things that Emily believes she can share.  If she does that, then the therapist will consider some pills.  We all know that Emily had already kept a journal, so this should be easy.  Just turn it over to the therapist, and voila!  Pills.  But her therapist does have a question:

Would you like to tell me why it's all written in third person, though?
Emily is clearly distraught, the therapist gives her a prescription.  Before she takes the first pill, Emily goes to the zoo.  She walks through the exhibits of animals in cages and thinks about her situation.  How she needs the cage.

She throws away the pills.
Lola's Thoughts:

I don't know why but these are the chapters that affected me the most. I wanted her to go back to him. The book felt empty without him. How pathetic is that?  But Emily is already making plans to go back. She knows she is free but she writes reverse directions to his house.

Coming close to home she hears on the radio that her parents have given up on her and had a memorial service for her. To everyone but her Master she is dead. But then again he kicked her out. She has no idea where to fit anymore. Sentences like this broke my heart.

In the end the most monstrous thing he did was let me go.
For whatever reason, he wanted me to be free, and I'd been trained to obey. I could keep going if I thought of it as obedience.
Over months of being with him, my prison had become my sanctuary, and now that I was free, the world was my prison.

She goes home and her parents freak out. I think that they are cold to her. But I was also putting myself in Emily's shoes.
At the end of chapter 10 the press arrives to find out her survival story...when really Emily feels like she is dying.

A few friends cam by, but I didn't have the energy or will to ask to stay with them. That felt too much like moving on with my life. My life had ended with him.

After seeing the shrink she thinks of finding her own place and try to get on with life. She gets her pills and goes to the zoo. Then she dumps the pills and decides that she doesn't want to be a part of this life. She wants her life with her master back.

Comfort Food: A Read Along: Chapters 8 and 9

Kitten's Thoughts:
Chapter 8

Months pass between Chapters 7 and 8, and we now join Emily 5 months later in her... I'm not quite sure what to call it now...  captivity?  life?  I'm really not sure at this point.  But there we are, 5 months later.  I was trying to think of how long now she has been with her Master.  It was early Spring when he took her, so maybe 10 months at this point?  Almost a year.  Almost a year with no tv, no radio, no internet, just Master and his wishes.  He does give her books of erotica to read.  So, basically, she lives nothing, but sex and any other way that she can entertain herself (other than touching herself -- definitely against the rules) while she waits for Master.

She is in no way the same Emily we met at the beginning:

By July, the photos had changed, like they weren't even me. Pain was dwarfed by pleasure, even when there were lash marks on my back, even on the occasions when there was blood. Whatever he did, it didn't matter. I wanted it all.
In the good cell the warm throbbing between my legs was almost constant.  It didn't matter what I was doing.  Dancing, bathing, painting my fingernails.  Because whatever I was doing, my thoughts rarely strayed far from him and memories of the last time he'd touched me.  If I had been his obsession, he had become mine just as strongly.
She's imagining what he's doing when he's not with her.  Does he think of her at all? What is his long term plan for her?  She's afraid because she never wants to leave him now.  Her prior life is simply a shadow of the person she now is, and she never wants to go back to it.  Friends, family...  What did they look like again?  She can't quite remember.  I totally understand that.  Her entire mind has been erased and been rebuilt in the way that Master wants to be.  He has obliterated and destroyed the old Emily.  She doesn't even care that he doesn't speak to her anymore.
But he didn't have to use speech.  Every touch, every caress, every lash of the whip, crop or cane.  It was all communication, a private conversation that no one else could intrude upon.  Before, my life had only been words, shallow, meaningless words dripping from my mouth with no real content.  Words for the sake of words to make me feel less alone in the world.  But I had been alone.
And now a new trick...  One day, she wakes and the door to her room is wide open.  Not knowing what to do, she continues with her morning rituals and waits in her slave position for Master.  As she waits, she sees... what is that...?  A set of car keys.  She continues to wait with fear pounding in her heart.

When Master comes to her room hours later, she still waits for him.  When he arrives, he is furious that she didn't leave.  Why would she?  How does she know that this isn't a trick of his to get her into the bad cell?  Besides, she doesn't want to leave anyway.  Why would he want to leave now???  She is exactly what he made her into.  Presumably, she's exactly what he wants now.  I really feel for her.  How can she go back to any semblance of a normal life?

He drags her through the house towards the door as she begs him not make her go.  He throws her on the couch, leaves and returns with a notebook... His

Chapter 9:
The only thing that I will say about Chapter 9 is that he tells her explicitly why and how he did to her what he did.  There's just too many possible spoilers in this chapter to discuss it much further. We also learn a few shockers about Master himself.  The main point of it:

The bastard kicked her out.

Lola:
I don't really have much to add.
It's really amazing to see the changes that take place. She is finally "comfortable" in her life. She is living it and doesn't hate it. I'm not sure how I feel about that. You get to see the level of her comfort. So when Chapter 9 comes and he kicks her out it is a huge shocker, and a huge blow to her. I felt her devastation.

Review: Wallbanger by Alice Clayton

Caroline Reynolds has a fantastic new apartment in San Francisco, a KitchenAid mixer, and no O (and we’re not talking Oprah here, folks). She has a flourishing design career, an office overlooking the bay, a killer zucchini bread recipe, and no O. She has Clive (the best cat ever), great friends, a great rack, and no O.
Adding insult to O-less, since her move, she has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Each moan, spank, and–was that a meow?–punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has, yep, you guessed it, no O.
Enter Simon Parker. (No, really, Simon, please enter.) When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has, well, mixed results. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick…
In her third novel, Alice Clayton returns to dish her trademark mix of silly and steamy. Banter, barbs, and strutting pussycats, plus the sexiest apple pie ever made, are dunked in a hot tub and set against the gorgeous San Francisco skyline in this hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight.

Lola's Review: 4 Stars ****
Yummm Simon Wallbanger. I want one for Christmas. Ok. His real last name is Parker...but that's like weird. Just kidding. I'm not 12. I just like the nickname.

Comfort Food: A Read Along, Chapters 6 and 7

Chapter 6 begins with Emily being led to her own red room of pain and another choice.  Whips, canes, a metal table with handcuffs and more sex toys than a retail shop await her decision.  It isn't long coming:

He believed he could hide his soul from me by never speaking, but his actions told me everything I needed to know.  He wanted me to beg for the whip.  And I would do it.

Review: I Fucked a Zombie Horde by Delilah Fawkes

Rating: 4 Stars ****Source: Reviewer PurchaseBlurb: Rose has one rule when it comes to staying alive in the post-apocalyptic hellscape she calls home: Stay sharp. If you're not sharp, you could miss something, and when you miss something, that's when they get you--The Sex Zombies.
If they make you cum, you die, turning into a mindless, horny, walking corpse.
When Rose saves Jake from a horde of the undead, she knows right away he's not good for her survival. He's hot as hell, but sex is one distraction that could get them killed. Will he be the something that dulls her edge, or will they both make it to safety with their underwear in tact?
Warning: This 4300 word short story contains dubious consent, sex with the undead, forced seduction, and a ghastly gangbang you'll have to read about to believe!

Lola's Thoughts:
LMFAO. Yes this is a real book. Yes the zombies are out to get you off. If they do you become one of them!!! This book was freaking hilarious. And amazing! I loved it. Was it gross. Of course. But not as bad as those other monster fuckers I read a month or so back. This book was an all around fun ride.
Why the 4 stars when I gave "My Robot Body Will Make You Cum" 5 stars. Because the zombies have to rape their victims (kinda). But zombies are soulless eating (in this case sexing) machines who don't care about feelings. Also because it was entirely too short. I feel like there is so much more to this story!!!
If you like reading weird erotica then I think you will like this one!!

Review: My Robot Body Will Make You Cum

Title: My Robot Body Will Make You Cum
Author: Dixon Heurass
Source: Reviewer purchase
Rating: 5 Stars *****
Blurb: James' wife is in for a surprise when he returns home with a shiny, new robot body. One capable of pleasuring her in new and precise ways.
-4800 Words This story contains graphic scenes of sex between a woman and a robot.

Lola's Review: I have been goodreads friends with Dixon Heurass for less than a year. In that short time I have read various erotic books including Fifty Shades of Freed and this short story. Let me tell you this book is a lot more entertaining than the other one.
I would like to start of this review with a few small facts (*ahem fabrications*) that I have learned about Dixon. He is truely a well read individual who loves reading all of the classics. Hemmingway, Salinger, Fitzgerald. As a matter of a fact this book is a fan fic of a small unknown story by JD Salinger. I'm sure you have never heard of it. It has some kid named Holden in it. Dixon is a fantastic horse trainer and ballroom dancer. He speaks four languages fluently and loves a nice big glass of bourbon after a hard day at work.
Now to my review.
The good:
This story is well written and entertaining. I did not get grossed out. Not even once. I cannot believe this has not been optioned by a big porn house and made into a movie!
The characters are totally relatable. I can understand why he would want to become a robot. I would too if I could get a bunch of sweet attachments like he did.
The bad:
Um having a 2 liter of pop put into a vagina sounds painful. It's probably equal/greater than the pain of getting punched in the balls.

Overall this was a fun little read. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have a big ole LOLGASM.

Comfort Food: Chapter 4 and 5 Read-a-long!

Lola's Thoughts:
Chapter 4:

"I was falling too far, losing bits and pieces of my mind. If I didn't escape soon, I knew I wouldn't be able to. In the other cell there was no hope because there were no weapons......Suddenly everything my eyes touched held a dark purpose. Shower Curtain? Strangle him. Pen? Jab him in the throat. Lamp? Knock him out."

Is it bad that I may have LOL'd at this part. Yes, I realize I am fucked up in the head. Needless to say...I think I found humor in the fact that this is exactly how I imagine myself reacting to this situation. She imagines killing him a lot in this chapter. For various reasons, her freedom, her sanity, the safety of her family.

She bides her time. Feeling a sense of security that she can't see pinhole cameras in the ceiling. She plays along acts submissive. Losing her self more and more even if she thinks she's just acting. I think she knows better. I think at this point she has so much HOPE for escape that she doesn't see herself slipping as she plays his game.

Comfort Food: A read along: Chapter 3

Lola's Thoughts: In this Chapter Emily leaves the confines of the cell. But not before she is left to herself. Devoid of his touch. He doesn't even enter the room to feed her anymore. Just leaves the food.
She gives up dancing. She just wants to be done. She knows the more she resists the harder it will be for her.
Finally on the seventh day he comes in and tries touching her. She doesn't resist. She leans into him. He blindfolds her and takes her out of the room.
The POV changes as the touching escalates. This gives the reader a clearer view of what is happening. It also distances the reader from the violence. It is unclear if we are in her captors mind or just witnessing the "horror" in a sort of out of body experience.
She'd forgotten beds, what they were like, what pillows felt like against her flesh, or soft mattresses. She still wore the blindfold as he spread her legs apart, his fingers dipping into her and grinding against her heat. She was wet, so wet for him that she could hear it as his fingers pumped in and out of her in a chaotic rhythm. Then his mouth was on her sex, driving her on until she screamed.
"Yes, please, please don't stop touching me." Her breathing became erratic as she crested over the wave of her orgasm. Release, sensation, pleasure after so much nothingness. Then he was inside her, still gentle, thrusting in a steady soothing rhythm, like the ocean waves beating on the shore. She felt his release and then he pulled out of her....
After she suddenly feels the need to cover herself. She refused to move until he told her she could move. He leaves the room. When he comes back he has a tray full of food. Turkey and all the fixings. Upon stuffing herself she looks around the room. She sees that everything that she could ever want is there. Her taste in books reflected on the shelves. Her size of clothes in the closet. A ballet studio is included. She feels like she has "sold herself for pretty things". She knows that he would keep her and keep her well if she would only give him her will.

Comfort Food - A Read Along - Chapter 2

Lola's thoughts:
Chapter 2 opens with Emily wondering when she had encountered her kidnapper in the past. She talks about her first night, still slightly drugged and how she slept. She dreamed about flirting with her captor at the luncheon. While her captor sets up a routine there is still no interaction between her and him.
I decided this was by design. If he'd stalked me for any length of time, he knew how I craved social interaction. To speak to me would give me something he didn't want to give. Toward what purpose, I didn't know. If his intention was to drive me insane, he had a winner of a plan.
Desperate to keep her wits and sanity she seeks comfort in movement and her past as a ballet dancer.
So I danced. To distract myself, to move myself out of this plane of existence and into another, one where I was free. The cell was perfect stage, plenty of room to pirouette and tour jete across it.
After she finishes her dancing he brings her a water and she notices the pinhole cameras all over the ceiling and is enraged that her captor is watching. She then realizes his pattern. He wouldn't enter the room if she was close to the door. Only when she is in a certain corner.  She thinks back to her psych lessons on Stockholm Syndrome. Even though she knows that is what he is doing she knows it won't stop it from happening.

He takes her to the bathroom and he strips her of her last remaining possessions. Her clothes. She keeps dancing, and starts marking the days. At the end of the chapter he comes to her again and tries to unbutton her shirt. She rebels. He turns to leave but she realizes that she NEEDS more than just dancing.
"Please! Please don't leave me here. I'll do anything you want." I moved to him and reached out and touched him for the first time of my own volition. My hand gripped his arm; I couldn't let him leave me alone again. I couldn't keep up this maddening pattern forever. It had to stop, anything to make it stop.
She realizes that she can let him do things to her. She could do it because even though his soul was gross, his outside is not. She realizes that she won't be blamed for it. She was the victim. However, he sees through her  motives and leaves her.

Kitten's Thoughts

Chapter 2 sees Emily taking in her prison surroundings.  Grey walls with muted lighting surround her.  There are no furnishings, no tv, no radio, no clock...  Just a toilet and a drain in one of the room's corners.

Her captor brings her more chicken soup and crackers.  We all remember having chicken soup as a child when we were sick and most likely have it as adults too.  Our automatic association is something warm, soothing, something will make us feel better...  and now it's being used to make Emily see her captor as comfort as well as to remove stimulation from her very taste buds with the three times a day sameness.  Monotony, sensory deprivation and manipulation are names of the game here and she knows it.

I was pretty sure he was trying to break me, and considering my lack of escape options, I was pretty sure he was going to succeed.

As her confinement continues, she does what she can to have some activity, anything to experience even the smallest of sensation.  She even thinks about masturbating.  Sounds crazy, yes?  Who wants to masturbate when some psycho has you in his clutches?  I think that's the last thing I would have been thinking about, but you never know what you will do in a desperate situation to calm your panic.

He begins to woo her with small kindnesses to make her trust and depend on him.  He gives her water when he knows she's thirsty... touches her face gently while feeding her.  Yes, I said woo her.  It's exactly what he's doing, but in a very warped way.  He has not hurt her or forced himself on her.  No, he's been very gentle with her and taken care of her entirely.  He's fed her, clothed her and given her shelter... Doesn't that show he cares?  Shouldn't she feel gratitude?

People always think they'll never break. They'll never give in. CIA operatives somehow crack, but not them.
Seriously, how long could any of us expect to hold out before giving in completely?  You have nothing in your life...  Nothing but this ever silent man attending to you with no indication as to what he intends or wants from you.  You may think you're strong, but when your stressors are found and used against you, you will break.  It's just a matter of time.  For seven days now Emily has had nothing to pass the time except his visits and her thoughts which now starting to stray dangerously.

My mind was going down trails I wished it wouldn't.  His soul was ugly, but physically, he was beautiful.  I could give in to that.
Chapter 2 is the beginning of the conditioning of Emily.

Comfort Food: A Read Along Chapter 1

Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas
Purchased by the reviewers.
Blurb: Emily Vargas has been taken captive. As part of his conditioning methods, her captor refuses to speak to her, knowing how much she craves human contact. He's far too beautiful to be a monster. Combined with his lack of violence toward her, this has her walking a fine line at the edge of sanity. Told in the first person from Emily's perspective, Comfort Food explores what happens when all expectations of pleasure and pain are turned upside down, as whips become comfort and chicken soup becomes punishmentDISCLAIMER:
This is not a story about consensual BDSM. This is a story about "actual" slavery. If reading an erotic story without safewords makes you uncomfortable, this is not the book for you. This is a work of fiction, and the author does not endorse or condone any behavior done to another human being without their consent.
This is a chapter by chapter read along of this book. Kitten and I will be bringing you our uncensored thoughts on this book. As always, this is an erotica book and you are on an erotica blog. Not intended for anyone under the age of 18.

The book opens with Emily's first day of captivity.  It's a stark and scary opening scene and me being the freak I am was instantly sucked in but the description we are given of her first moments.

I was blindfolded, sitting in a hard metal chair, with each of my legs bound to a chair leg and my arms tied up behind me. The sharpest bit of sensory input I had was the silence. It was a suffocating blanket from which there was no escape. Unless I started talking just to hear my own voice, a desperation I refused to display in the first five minutes of consciousness.
She sits in the dark thinking about the why's and the how's of how she came to be tied up in and blindfolded in this silent place.

Rape. Death. Dismemberment. Maybe in that order, maybe not. Though that order would be preferable to Dismemberment. Rape. Death. Or Rape. Dismemberment. Death. You always want your dismemberment to happen after death.

Her silence is broken by footsteps. She is spoon fed chicken noodle soup making her wonder if her captor has been studying her. As he touches her breast, the memory of a previous sexual assault is brought up.
Her first serious relationship when she was 17. She has spent years being confused and feeling guilty about this assault.

I said no. I'd meant no.
He'd ignored me, spreading my legs wide for his perusal, gripping my wrists tightly against my thighs as he held me down. "You'll like this, I promise."
I struggled, but he was too strong, and I didn't have the proper leverage to shove him away. He  buried his head between my legs..."
Her terror is replaced by something different. Creating guilt that she has lived with for years.
In his mind, I'm sure he believed he hadn't done anything wrong, since he'd successfully turned my body against me. In the end I liked it. The entire sordid event from start to finish.
The juxtapostion of fear and helplesness, set up next to complete pleasure and eventual surrender. I'd masturbated for months afterward to the memory of the event.
Over time I developed an intense shame about it, not because I'd be violated, but because I wasn't properly traumatized by what had been done to me. Because I sometimes still touched myself thinking about it.
She soon learns that if she wants to eat she must allow the stranger to touch her. She knows now that it's a game. Let him touch her and she eats. If not she goes hungry.
The chapter closes with her captor taking of her bindings and uncovering her eyes. She sees a beautiful man with something less than human in his eyes.

This opening chapter is just so complex. She know. She really knows what is happening to her. She knows she can't fight it physically or mentally. It is a very intense ride from the get go. I literally felt her anxiety at being in that room with her.

Kitten's thoughts on Chapter 1:

I second Lola's comments regarding the complexity of this chapter.

There is so much going on mentally within Emily while the unthinkable is happening to her on the outside... it's harrowing to read this first person narrative.

Tied to a chair blindfolded, Emily begins to reflect about how women approach life:

Women go through their lives a bit differently than men.  We're always cautious.  It's not that we live in abject terror twenty-four hours a day thinking some random man is going to come along and rape or kill us.

Those sentences really struck a chord with me because it's true.  At least for me.  No, I don't walk around thinking that some random man is going to attack me... but the possibility is always there.  That's why women carry pepper spray, take self-defense classes, warn our daughters not to talk to strangers, warn our female friends about certain "vibes" we get around a guy.  (Guys, if you are reading this think about what you just read.  Do you ever feel a bit anxious when you see a group of women walking down the street towards you? Of course, not.  A group of women is not going to be violent with you without cause.)

Shortly after, she talks about the logical safety measures she took:

Me, who is always so careful.  Locks her doors, doesn't walk or jog with ear buds in her ears, doesnt't take candy from strangers in vans.  You know the drill.
Yes, we do know the drill.  We do take those safety measures.  We do what law enforcement and women's groups tell us to do, but in end...  If someone wants to get you, they're going to do it.  Too much scary truth?  Now imagine Emily's terror.  Like Lola quoted above "Dismemberment, Rape, Death".

But no, there is more to this...  Her captor isn't violent with her.  He doesn't rip her clothes off, tie her to the four corners of a bed and rape her.  Oh no.. he's gentle with her, but makes it explicitly clear from the start (without a saying a word) that she would either agree to what he wanted from her or pay the consequences.  "Agree to be violated for food?" you may be asking.  If you are in survival mode, that's exactly what you do.  You agree become compliant and tell yourself that you will do what you have to do until you see your chance to escape.

Once her captor feeds her, he removes everything not attached to the floor and leaves.  Now, without her blindfold, she can see with 100% certainty, there is no escape.  This is not the movies where she can jimmy the lock, escape into the night and flag down a passing police car.

She will be his prisoner as long as he wants her.

I wonder how many of us would be so quick to realize the situation. I am not sure that I have the strength that Emily has to move along and adapt that quickly. In the end what choice would any of use have. Her captor gives her a choice that isn't a choice. Eat and give me permission to violate you, or choose not to be touched and I will leave you alone in every sense of the word. -Lola.

Trapped with Sex Starves Aliens

Author:  Aphrodite Hunt
Rating: 2.5 out of 5 Stars

Blurb:

Alicia Conifer is having a hard time with her starcraft pilot, John Hanson. His overwhelming good looks and caustic tongue are distracting. But she has to graciously put up with him anyway for two whole weeks on the planet, Norbu, where she plans to study the flora and fauna.

They are not alone, however.

They are soon kidnapped, stripped and subjected to indignities by the natives - who seem to be partial to her voluptuous body and John's impressive manhood. But Alicia discovers that the Norbuans have two sexual appendages and a mysterious telepathic ability that has far-reaching consequences for all of them.

How much of her body must she give up to learn their secrets?

Review:
The author states that this book was an homage to "Avatar" and "John Carter", and this is apparent in the description of the aliens bodies as well as appendages.  They are 9 feet tall, lean and the females of the species have no breasts.  However, the aliens' tails that were used to connect to the goddess in Avatar are used in a much more carnal fashion in this 14, 500 word short story.

This story does build the main characters a bit: why they are going to this planet, occupations, general attitudes, how they speak to each other, the thoughts they have about each other but do not voice, etc... But before long, danger surrounds them in the forest with Alicia and John ultimately taken to the leader of the alien tribe for exploration of another kind.  An excerpt:

"His hand reaches for her left breast. He has a curious expression on his face - as though he has never seen a breast before. He may well not, judging from the flat chests of the Norbuan women. She holds her breath as his three-fingered and one-thumbed hand caresses her flesh. He cups her mound and raises it. His touch is silken and very warm. One of his long tapering three-jointed fingers brushes across her nipple, causing the tip to tense and fill with blood."
How Alicia and John react in this situation are as polar opposites. Him being the more sane of the two and trying to find ways to escape... but Alicia... is very dedicated to her work and good at persuading John to her way of thinking.
Remember (like I had to remind myself) that this is a short story. Even though the scenes are steamy, they are few... with the second not quite as thrilling as the first (honestly, I was a bit bewildered at where it was going for a bit). But, it's the perfect size for the ride to the inlaws across town for dinner. Greet them with a smile on your face!

The price point on Amazon is $2.99 and that may seem a bit high. However, after Trapped by Sex Starved Aliens, you also get a glimpse into another Aphrodite Hunt book Her First Clit Ring.

On Dublin Street

On Dublin Street
By: Samantha Young

Blurb from Goodreads:
Four years ago, Jocelyn Butler left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Edinburgh. Burying the grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without any real attachments has worked well for her so far but when Joss moves into a fantastic apartment on Dublin Street, her carefully guarded world is shaken to its core by her new roommate's sexy older brother. Braden Carmichael is a man who always gets what he wants. And what he wants is Jocelyn in his bed. Knowing how skittish Joss is concerning any kind of relationship, Braden proposes a sexual arrangement that should satisfy the intense attraction between them without it developing into anything 'more'. An intrigued Jocelyn agrees, completely unprepared for the Scotsman and his single-minded determination to strip the stubborn young woman bare... to the very soul. Contains strong adult content. For readers ages over 18.

~Fanny's thoughts~

I went into this book trying not to have too many expectations. It's slow going at first, but it takes off after the first few chapters. Really when Joss starts seeing a therapist for her emotional hang-ups.

I have to say I REALLY like Braden, despite the fact he's bossy and rich (two characteristics that are currently being overdone). He never gave up on Joss. That's something to admire. Really and truly, it is. Read it, and you'll understand.

The sex. The sex is hot. HOT, HOT, HOT! In fact, the whole reason I kept reading was because the sex scenes are very well written. Not to mention, some of the stuff that comes out of Braden's mouth... *swoon*
"I know that you're lying to me. I know you love me, Jocelyn, because there's no fucking way I can be this much in love with you, and not have you feel the same way. It's not possible."
Seriously!! Yeah, I would melt too. The writing takes you seamlessly through the scenes and gives the angst everyone looks for in a romance novel. The plot is only a little different from other books riding the 50 Shades wave. I read this book two days ago, and I had to look at the blurb to remember their names. I guess that's not a good thing.

The biggest problem I had was with the protagonist, Jocelyn. I'll start with what I did like - I love how snarky she is in her inner dialogue:
"Why the hell did he have to be the human version of a sexually charged nuclear weapon?"
I just didn't feel she was 22 years old most of the time. We ALL have baggage, and she has some, but she kept hanging up on it.

Overall, I'm glad I read it. It's a great read if you're in the mood. I give this novel 3.75 STARS!

Reflected in You by Sylvia Day ~Kami's Review

3.5 Stars ~Kami's Review

You all know I hate giving 1/2 stars, but I just couldnt make myself give this one a full 4 star review. I will try and keep this short and sweet but you know how winded I can get when I really get into something.

The murder plot, in my opinion, should have been something introduced in the beginning of the book. Could have been built up and dramatized and really made the book great. I understand having suspense in a book and building up to something, but really I think it was very clear from the beginning who killed Nathan. So for me the suspense wasnt working. I liked the ending. I am happy that "he" killed Nathan, maybe that is just the dark side of my soul talking.

The other thing that I couldnt connect with in this book was the attraction between these two. Its not a superficial attraction, or even a deep emotional attraction, but a primal, unbalanced, unleashed fire that burns between these two. For me I have never felt that kind of passion, I doubt many have. I have lusted after many a men, but nothing even closely resembling this. It was hard for me to understand some of what the characters were feeling since its something I am unfamiliar with. It is not your usual romance novel where the characters fall in love, it is not your usual erotic novel either, it is something completely different. I can only wish that someday I might feel a fraction of what the characters in this book felt for each other. Another part of me wishes that I never feel what they felt since I wouldnt want to need someone so much that it hurts to be away from them.

What I could connect with was the jealousy that both Cross and Eva felt. I can identify and sympathize with Eva and her insecurities and trust issues. I felt this aspect of their relationship all the way to my bones. I felt their pain and fear, and I liked it. When an author can make you feel what the characters in their books are feeling then they have done their job right.

I expected more insight into Cross's past, and am a bit dissappointed that we didnt get more.

To sum it all up, it was a good book, but it could have been great with a few adjustments. This book for me just didnt have the flare that the 1st book had. However I of course will read the next book in the series. I will devour it as quickly as I devoured this one.

Fifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland

Fifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland a Fairytale for Adults

Author: Melinda Du Champ

Blurb:

Eighteen-year-old Alice is unhappy. Her boyfriend is nice and polite, but he’s also quick and careless in bed, and doesn’t give Alice the attention and variety she craves. But he’s not entirely to blame, because Alice herself doesn’t understand her own needs. She’s heard about what sex is supposed to be like, but has never felt anything remotely close to what she’s read about in runaway bestselling books.

Then Alice follows a vibrating white rabbit down a deep, dark hole, which leads to a place beyond her wildest imagination. There are no nice boys, or girls, down here. Only those who indulge in secret, forbidden, kinky fantasies.
Alice is confused and frightened and… aroused.

Review:

I think that we have all had lovers in the past (hopefully, not present) that do not focus on their partners needs… A part of that, however, is realizing what your wants and needs are as well as communicating them. While this book ventures into the selfish lovers aspect as well as punishment for that offense, it mainly focuses on Alice’s discovery of what she wants.

In this parody of both Alice in Wonderland and 50 Shades of Grey, we meet the different characters in the fairy tale who are just as mad as they were in the original story, but only with a highly sexual bent. Honestly, the only link to 50 Shades of Grey is the Pink Room of Bunnies (rather than the Red Room of Pain) and her host wearing “those jeans” wherein Alice learns what an orgasm is and feels like. Otherwise, this is Alice wandering through Wonderland lost and naked, being taken in ways she never imagined as well as doing things she never imagined that had disgusted her when she thought of them in the past.

This book definitely has its share of heat. Scenes from Alice spread completely open on the wheel where her savior/tormentor shaves her bare and juices her body... Placing differing colors of lipstick on a man’s cock to make a rainbow… Using a sex couch to its fullest potential with 3 partners all in the name of fun… Her adventure in the Queen’s croquet game, being handled by the entire Queen’s court, not knowing which hands or tongues corresponded with what body… all the while hearing different voices in conversation about her reactions… Alice sitting on a Queening chair forcing a man strongly resembling Lewis to pleasure her or die as punishment for bad poems as well as not being an attentive lover… And who doesn’t appreciate a good spanking or two?

That being said, there were certain aspects of this book that just didn’t sit right with me. Strangely, she earns clothing after each sexual encounter, starting with boots that make her ass look good to being totally dressed as the slut she is commanded to call herself. The Queen tells Alice “There’s nothing wrong with being a slut, but you should own it. Let it empower you.” Not quite sure how I feel about that. No there’s nothing wrong with being powerful in your sexuality and as free as you want to be (with precautions), but “slut” stills hold a connotation (at least to me) that doesn’t mean power at all, but being used

Also, I don’t know of any 18 year old that knows what they want sexually, and I’m not sure that ventures into breast enlargement, BDSM, swapping out blow jobs with another woman, 3-somes a with a “furry” (Google it) and lastly public masturbation are a good idea at that age, even though it was an intriguing read for me.

But, we’re really not reading this book for a moral compass, right?
Overall, I’d give this book 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Seduced in the Dark

Title: Seduced in the Dark
Author: CJ Roberts
Genre: Erotica/Dark Romance
Source: Reviewer Purchase
Rating: 4 ****
The exciting, titillating, and action-filled conclusion to Captive in the Dark.

What is the price of redemption?
Rescued from sexual slavery by a mysterious Pakistani officer, Caleb carries the weight of a debt that must be paid in blood.
The road has been long and fraught with uncertainty, but for Caleb and Livvie, it’s all coming to an end.
Can he surrender the woman he loves for the sake of vengeance?
Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice?
Quote:
It seemed to Caleb, the nature of human beings revolved around one empirical truth: we want what we cannot have. For Eve, it was the fruit of the forbidden tree. For Caleb, it was Livvie.

Captive in the Dark

Title: Captive in the Dark
Author: CJ Roberts
Genre: Adult/Romance/Erotic
Source: Kindle purchase by reviewer
Blurb: Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.
Lori's Review:
This book makes me want to rethink my review policy. Almost. I won't change it but Oh. My. God. OH MY FUCKING GOD was this book hot. *Pants* I'm not kidding ya'll. It was....words can't even describe. I have lost my fucking mind.
I have resisted the "charms" of Christian Grey, Travis Maddox, and Gideon Cross to fall in love with Caleb. What is wrong with me? This man kidnaps women and turns them into sex slaves. Yes, really. Calm down Lori. It's fiction. I just really don't know where to take this review. I really don't.
Let's start from the beginning. I had every intention of doing this book as a read along. I even took notes in my kindle for the first four chapters. Then I. Just. Lost. It. I lost it head over heals, gone gone baby. My reasoning skills, my sanity, my whole entire person...thrown out the window. Head over fucking heels. Head over heels. Kitten, and Master (aka Livvie and Caleb) so much chemistry. So much. And it's complicated. So so complicated. How do I, as a feminist, cheer for a guy like Caleb? How? And yet. Yet, I did. I was seriously like, come on--the reason she is so special is because you have it baaadd for this girl, and in some sick twisted and amazing way she has it bad for you. Me too Caleb me too. I have it bad, the Caleb fever.
Why isn't this book on the NYT best sellers list? Where are the publishing houses beating down CJ Roberts door? This book is so much better than any of those other popular dark romances/erotica novels out there. The writing was amazing. I am already into the second book and my heart is in my throat. In my fucking throat. She can not be doing what I think she is doing. Nope. That is for another review though.
I could yammer on about the world building, but honestly. They spend 85% of the book in a shitty bedroom only lit by nigh lights. Be prepared to feel trapped. I did. Caleb was our (mine and Livvie's) only source of light in the darkness. How fucked up! He is the same man that beats her with a belt.
Just know when you go into this book that it is very dark, and filled with dubious consent. If you cannot stomach those things then don't say I and the author did not warn you!
