Author:  S.L. Jennings

Blurb:
LOVE. SEX. MAGIC.

Before her 20th birthday, Gabriella was pretty much clueless about all three. In love with her best guy friend since the age of 14 and too crass and intimidating for most of the male population of Colorado Springs, both love and good sex were virtually a myth.

And then there's magic. Freakin' magic. There's no way that legend could have a place in her less than exciting life. So why after twenty years of utter obscurity do her adopted parents hit her with the ton of bricks that is her true identity? And how the heck is she supposed to accept all this and instantly become what she was destined to be?

Lucky for Gabs, sexy as sin Dorian is more than equipped to help her embrace these new revelations. And while everything about him feels oh so good, she soon learns that there's more behind his crystal blue eyes, chiseled body and exotic beauty. Something dark, menacing and downright unnatural. Yet Gabs is in way too deep to even try to turn away from him now.

Dark Light, Book 1 of the Dark Light Series, is the raw, emotional story of a young woman's journey of self-discovery in a world that was not meant for her. And her scorching hot, lip-biting addiction for the man she can't deny, no matter the cost.
*Contains strong adult content.
Excerpt:
I look down at a stern faced Dorian.  He's concentrating on the lustful task, biting his bottom lip.  He looks so damn sexy; I just want to pull him on top of me.  Dorian catches me eyeing him and locks his glistening baby blues on my blissfully tortured face.  Slowly, he leans forward and licks my swollen clit with the tip of his tongue, still penetrating me with his long, searching fingers.  He licks again, applying more pressure, letting his saliva meld with my essence.  He continues his oral assault, licking, sucking, nibbling my delicate flesh until my moans and cries beg him to stop.
Kitten's Thoughts:

I really liked this book, and not just because of the steam pouring from my Kindle.  This book tells the story of a young woman who finds out that she has never been the person she thought she was, and why she was never anything more than ordinary her entire life.  Don't we all want to be something "more"? She's trying to deal with this extremely confusing situation, go about her daily life with some form of normalcy, and just live her life.  She's in denial, afraid, wants it all to go away.  Who can blame her?  Add to this that there is someone out there with a murderous rage trying to find her, and a dangerously handsome man to whom she is uncontrollably attracted?  Maybe ordinary isn't so bad after all!  Why is he showing up now?  Can she trust Dorian with more than her body?  I don't know and I've read this book 3 times!  He goes from trustworthy to not so many times, I, like Gabrielle, just can't get a real sense of his intent towards her...  but their attraction to each other is undeniable and insatiable...  Dorian, Dorian, Dorian...  What is your end game?  Do I think I know where this is going?  Yes.. No...  I just can't decide.

The world that S.L. Jennings has created is not like any other that I have read.  Yes, the battle of good against evil is age old, but who can tell who is good and who is bad in this?  Certainly not this reader.  Dark is Light and Light is Dark in so many ways.  I look forward to the second installment of this series to find out more not only about this intriguing world and its workings, but also the other relatable characters that we meet in this book...  especially...  Dorian...

Dorian Skotos is the embodiment of sex on fire. From the way his ice blue eyes seem to unveil your inner most fantasies to that sexy smirk that has the ability to render women senseless, the man has talents that could very well be considered weapons of mass destruction. He is mysterious yet captivating, intense yet oh so cool. He takes what he wants without asking or apologizing and you gladly submit. He makes you pursue him. Dorian isn’t flashy or pretentious but you know that everything around him screams luxury. And his touch? It is nothing short of mind-blowing. Imagine being caressed by a thousand agile fingers stimulating every erogenous zone simultaneously. One kiss consumes you in a way that makes you want to relinquish all control and clothing. His tongue commands every part of you- mind, body and soul.  One look at him and you know there is something extraordinary about him. One taste and you’ll never be able to go back to ordinary again.

Author Bio:  I am the wife of a member of the US Air Force and a mom of 3 wild & crazy boys. Right now we are stationed overseas in Germany where we actually met 13 years ago in high school. I read like a mad woman and am inspired by everything from Stephanie Meyer to Eric Jerome Dickey. I love to cook, shop, and go dancing with my friends. I’m a huge girly girl. What my household lacks in estrogen, I more than make up for. I hope to dive into contemporary romance with an erotic twist after the completion of the Dark Light Series.
