Review:
I am one of those readers who was completely and totally sucked into the Dark/Light World, and I reread the story of Dorian and Gabs at least 5 time.  If you have not read my review of The Dark Light, you can do so here:  Review of Dark Light

How did I feel about the second in the series, The Dark Prince?  To be honest, I was scared to read it.  I didn't know how it would live up to my expectations.  You know that feeling, right???

The Dark Prince did not disappoint!!!  Passion and heat jumps off the pages in a full force assault.  The entire back story unfolds as Gabs learns who Dorian really is, why he was sent to her and what he must do.  How can Dorian even more intense than he was in TDL?  He is!!!  Dorian is shown in all his power and his weakness.  His entire soul is bared.  We see him as he is:  a conflicted man in desperate love with a woman he can never have.  There are seemingly too many forces in both their lives for their relationship to succeed.

One of those forces being Gabs herself.  She throws more obstacles in her way than almost any character  I have read.  Some valid, some not.  She lives in varying states of anger, pain and hurt all the while trying to push it away and not be who she truly is.
 

The sex?  The heat between Dorian and Gabs (Aurora? Jared?) is LETHAL!!!  Seriously, this is a hot, hot read.  Dorian's ruined me (shiver)...

Overall, I give this Book a 4 and definitely plan to reread.

The sexy Rachel, and her girl Michelle, planned to hit the town when they get a shit load of  hmmmm NOT the right sort of attention! I don't want to give too much away, but the part which sucked me in came pretty early! Yes, it is very sexy and makes ya go mmmmmm, but the overwhelming emotion of having no control over your own physical response is very familiar to me.  It sucks just as much for chicks to get unwanted lady wood...well almost perhaps! I think it sucks worse because we "ladies" are supposed to control those sort of impulses right? Don't expect the next FSOG or Reflected in you here. Simply because this short story is well short. But what is here is good. I like Peter Lear much better than most erotic big boss men. He gets right to the point. Lucy is mousy without being annoying. The sex is steamy. In 7,000 words Ms. St Claire managed to tantalize and engage me in more ways than other more famous authors. I only wish she would have give us more of Lucy and Peter. I was thoroughly entertained. Is this short worth .99 cents? To me it was. It was a quick hot read. I look forward to reading St. Claires longer works.

This book was not horrible. It truly was not. Let's just get down to the nitty gritty of why this book was not for me!
The writing: In the first portion of the book the writing is a little 'meh'. It feels choppy and lacks a certain flow. However, Mummert does hit her writing stride and it improves A LOT by the end of the book.
